We need isolation sometimes
Close the door behind you,
And sit
down. This conversation is between you and me alone.
Coming
from a person who locked himself from the world for a very long time, sometimes
being isolated is okay. Just to be clear, my intentions for such words are
purely based on opinion.
Yes, there
are clear disadvantages to what happens when you lock yourself in a room all
alone you begin to lose to your mind or even lose your grip on what is going on
in the world around you.
But you
and I are going to talk about the positive side of things.
First of
all, when was the last time you had a sat down with yourself?
Not
really, why?
You need
to take care of yourself by learning what it is that you want out of this thing
called “life” no one can answer your why but yourself.
No river,
roads or GPS map will point you to where you want to go.
Why use
the word Isolation?
In a
fast-paced world, you are bombarded with tons and tons of information that
would drain you out. In a way, you would say it is good to stay connected to
the world. But in reality, do you really want to pressure yourself with all
sorts of information while draining yourself in the same process?
Turning
negatives to positives
As
mentioned earlier, I locked myself away from the world a few years ago, and the
time I spend gave me the best versions of myself. Taking out all the negative
things that I endured over those years, I learned a lot about myself.
Personal
reflections:
- You get to discover a different version of yourself.
- You have more time to reflecting and understand yourself.
- You can easily disconnect with people who don’t value you and your time.
- Perhaps try and develop new skills that can push you to your next level.
I want to
leave you with this message;
We all
need space, time to discover ourselves, and find reason in the things that we
do. While you sit down and read this blog post I want you to know you need to
spend time isolate yourself and spend your hours wisely.
The best
time to know who you are is when you finally decide to spend time with
yourself.
I hope you
enjoyed this blog post. Leave your thoughts in the comments below...
My grandparents would've told me to go out there and experiencing everything possible but yes, these are different times and considering how much bombardment we're getting from all side, a bit of isolation can definitely do most of us some good.
