Living through the night

I love working, I love darkness, and most of all I love working at night.

There is something beautiful when it comes to darkness. Yes, it is the counterpoint of light which of course creates a harmonic balance for survival.

For almost half my life working at night has given a lot of productive ideas. [No coffee needed here]

There something about the silence provides me the ability to work hard and peaceful at the same time. How about you? Are you a morning person or night owl?

Darkness is a friend
From personal experience, most of my creative moments are built in the darkness. From the early songwriting days during my lost years and days of practicing my drawings. Darkness has been a long-time friend of mine.

What has darkness thought me?

Focus – One of the hardest things to do in a fast pace world is having the ability to be focused in your particular field. Of course, from 12 am to 4 am especially where I live it is the quietest time and preferably the best time to be laser-focused on what I want to achieve like writing this blog post.

Reflection hour – Aside from walking back from home, the best time to have an introspection into who you are a person is in the time of silence and the best time to that is of course when it is late at night.

I work like an owl – This one may not work for others unlike the two points mentioned above with time on my hands. I utilize this opportunity to do research on topics or work on projects I enjoy creating at night rather than the day time due to the habits, I have developed over the years.

Being alone – Every day in life we are exposed to society, and sometimes we lose our identity in the process just to fit in. The only time that we are alone is mostly at night and sometimes we neglect ourselves in having a one on one conversation which we need to have. If you haven’t done that in a long time, I do encourage you, folks, to at least try.

Never fear the dark, it is much like everything in life.

It is a part of who we are much like being good and bad, right and wrong. Fearing something that is part of you is like cutting off your limbs believing you will grow up to better off without it.

If you are a night owl like me. Don’t forget to leave your thoughts on why you work at night in the comment section below.
